UALR expected to be without Leeper for 4 weeks

BURN THE HORSE
Burn The Horse has learned UALR is expected to be without sophomore forward Gus Leeper for the next four weeks.

Leeper, who redshirted all of last year with a knee injury, has struggled with a stress fracture throughout the fall. UALR has attempted to limit his practice time with hopes that he could be available on game days. Leeper played in the season opener Nov. 9 against Tennessee-Martin, but was ineffective. He did not travel with the team to Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.

Four weeks out would slate Leeper to return sometime around the Dec. 15 game against Tulsa.

Leeper came on during the final month of his freshman team, helping UALR to the 2011 NCAA Tournament. He was expected to be a big contributor as a sophomore before the injury shelved his season. Again, he is being counted on this year to add depth behind sophomore Michael Javes.

UALR burned the redshirt of freshman forward Andrew Poulter during the final minutes of Wednesday's game.
