Neighbour finishes with double-double, +21 rating in UALR opener

On Friday morning it wasn’t even certain junior forward WillNeighbour would play in Friday’s season opener against Tennessee-Martin.

Neighbour collided with junior Leroy Isler during practiceon Tuesday and both knocked heads pretty hard. The result left Neighbour with aconcussion that kept him out of practice on Wednesday and Thursday. He passedthe medical tests on Friday morning and was cleared for limited duty on Fridaynight. He wasn’t sharp offensively throughout the night but still finished with13 points and 13 rebounds in 28 minutes.
More importantly for UALR was the scoring margin while hewas in the game. UALR outscored Tennessee-Martin 47-26 during those 28 minutesas Neighbour finished with the best plus/minus rating of the night at +21.
Freshman John Gillon, who had a game high 22 points, wassecond best at +16. UALR outscored Tennessee-Martin 61-45 with him on the court.Isler, whose head knock wasn’t as severe as Neighbour’s, was third best at +11.
