UALR signees off to big starts in high school seasons

BURN THE HORSE
High school basketball is just starting to get going. Here's an update on some of UALR's signees.

Regardless of which one of these accounts is correct, it’s still a nice debut for UALR signee Josh Hagins of Bossier City (La.) Airline.

Bossier City Press: The Airline boys opened their season Tuesday night with a 104-70 victory over the Northwood Falcons at Northwood. Josh Hagins hit seven 3-pointers and scored 30 points. Hayden Hildebrand scored 28.

Shreveport Times: At Northwood, Josh Hagins connected on eight 3-pointers as he torched the Falcons for 33 points in the season-opening win.

The Austin American-Statesman had this to say about UALR signee Andrew Poulter: “New Braunfels Canyon (29-7): Ranked eighth in Class 4A in the TABC preseason poll, Canyon returns 6-foot-11-inch senior Andrew Poulter.”

And this to say about signee Mareik Isom: “Bowie (26-7): Loss of two-time All-Central Texas honoree Connor Robinson will hurt, but Bulldogs still have a dynamic duo in Paul Baxter and Arkansas-Little Rock signee Mareik Isom.”

Isom had 30 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in an 84-80 loss to McNeil last week. Bowie plays against LBJ tonight.

UALR signee John Gillon of Houston Strake Jesuit is averaging 23.5 points through two games.
