Talihina's Taggart Lockhart commits to play for UALR

BURN THE HORSE
Vype in Oklahoma was first to report it and Burn The Horse now has confirmation. Talihina (Okla.) guard/forward Taggart Lockhart committed to sign with UALR on Saturday. Read Vype's story here:

Taggart fills a need at the off guard/small forward position with the graduation of Alex Garcia-Mendoza. UALR's only returnee at that spot is senior Tramar Sutherland.

UALR signed junior college combo guard Reggie Fondren, forward Will Neighbour (who will be a sophomore next season) and high school forward James White in the fall period. The Trojans also have a commitment from high school big man Michael Javes.
And it appears the Trojans are still in the hunt for shooting guards, a spot they remain thin with the graduations of Solomon Bozeman and Matt Mouzy.
Lockhart's team won the state championship this year and lost in the state championship each of the past two years. Read about the state championship here:

Lockhart made an unofficial visit to UALR when the Trojans hosted North Texas in the final game of the regular season. Here's another award he won:

Lockhart averaged 24 points per game this season. We're not sure of all of the schools he ultimately was offered scholarships by, but one was Central Arkansas. He was also apparently getting a lot of recent attention from other schools in the region.
Right now, UALR has six scholarships to give with the departure of Bozeman, Mouzy, Garcia-Mendoza, Derrick Bails, Montrell Thornton and Reggie Sonnier.
