St. Bonaventure loaded up at free throw line in first meeting with UALR

St. Bonaventure at UALR
7 p.m. Wednesday
Jack Stephens Center
St. Bonaventure defeated UALR 77-64 earlier this season in a game that wasn't as close as that final score indicates. UALR's guards looked like their feet were stuck in quicksand most of the game. Whether that was because of a long day of travel the previous day, it's hard to say. St. Bonaventure also played big on the inside with Andrew Nicholson, the Bonnies' best player, getting 26 points and 13 rebounds. St. Bonaventure outrebounded the Trojans 36-33.
But the biggest statistical disparity that day was free throws. UALR committed seven more fouls and St. Bonaventure attempted 17 more free throws. UALR was an amazing 17 of 20 while St. Bonaventure was a ridiculous 30 of 37.
Again, UALR's guards didn't look good that game. And perhaps that's why they fouled so much more. But St. Bonaventure can't expect to get the same advantage when it comes to Little Rock for the rematch at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
