BURN THE HORSE
We suppose Pony Stampede is eating these words tonight:
"There should be no way that SMU cannot come out with the victory over Arkansas Little-Rock especially with one of the top players in Conference USA in their lineup."
Apparently there was a way.
And ones
  • Kind of hilarious that two hours after the game ended and SMU still hasn't posted the game story on their official site. Something tells me they would have gotten it up there a little quicker if they had won.
  • SMU fans report that Billy Gillispie was in the house tonight. No surprise. He's a longtime friend of UALR Coach Steve Shields and lives in the Metroplex.
  • UALR wore maroon road uniforms for the first time since the 1998-1999 season, which was the final season under Wimp Sanderson. The next year, under Sidney Moncrief, they switched to black. Both UALR teams are wearing maroon on the road this season.
  • Eleven of the 12 players remaining in Dallas saw action tonight.
  • And congrats to the UALR fans who made the trip and were able to secure the free tickets SMU was offering. Quite a deal.
