BURN THE HORSE
The UALR women opened with a convincing 76-51 victory over Davidson on Friday at the Jack Stephens Center. Senior guard Shanika Butler didn't play and the defense was unorganized at times. But if you subbed Butler's typical 35 or so minutes with her defensive tenacity into the game tonight it probably would have looked even better.Senior forward Chastity Reed got her All-American candidacy off to a good start with 31 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 7 steals. And she did it with some interesting footwear. Don't adjust your televisions in the photos. Yes, she's wearing one black shoe, one white shoe and purple socks.
It gets much tougher on Tuesday with a trip to Texas A&M.
