Why has SMU been trying to get people into Moody Coliseum on Friday night for the home opener vs. UALR? Because they don't draw very well and UALR should bring a few folks.If you throw out the well-attended game vs. Texas A&M, SMU averaged only 1,989 fans for its first five games last year. And they only had 2,213 for the home opener.
There's been little or no talk about the game on their fans' primary message board this week. And SMU has a groups promotion where they are giving away free tickets to the game.
You'd have to assume UALR's Texans and their families (Shields, Golding, Jackson, Leeper, Guy, Sonnier, Williams, Kibi (juco) and Sutherland (juco) will bring some folks. There may even be some locals from Little Rock making the trip.
