Neighbour playing through pain, invited to Olympic training camp

BURN THE HORSE
Working on a freelance story about Will Neighbour that will be available in early March. Here's a couple of things that I learned after talking with him after Saturday night's game.

1. Will is still playing with quite a bit of pain and the brace he's forced to wear continues to limit his range of motion. I don't think that's a surprise to anyone when you look at his numbers decline since the shoulder separation. Western Kentucky had a player with a similar injury that is sitting out the entire season. Will's attitude is great and he's all about doing whatever is necessary for the team to win.

2. Will has been invited to participate in training camp for Great Britain's Olympic team. They'll be working out in Houston to start with. Coach Chris Finch is an assistant coach with the NBA's Houston Rockets. I'm not sure how many players will be participating, but it will be a larger number that they will continue to cut down as the Olympics get closer. Will is currently part of Great Britain's Under 23 National Team. One thing that could limit Neighbour is whether or not he needs surgery. And that determination won't be made until after the season.

Watch for Will's amazing story of commitment during the Sun Belt Tournament.
