BURN THE HORSE
Pondering how glad I was that my real job kept me from attending last night’s game while compiling the UALR Rewind. Also wondering what that bus ride to Bowling Green, Ky., must be like this morning.
Really, I can't say it better than Taggart Lockhart did on Twitter last night.
BTH Keys
Really Rebound: Not even close. UALR did have 16 offensive rebounds to Louisiana-Lafayette’s 12. But the Trojans got outrebounded 52-35 for the game, including 40-19 on defensive rebounds. I guess there were just a lot of opportunities because the Trojans missed 50 field-goal attempts on the night. Grade: F.
Point Power: D’Andre Williams had 6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 turnovers, but UALR didn’t keep it close long enough for Louisiana-Lafayette to have to use Raymone Andrews opposite him. Andrew played just 11 minutes while Williams made 3 of 16 field-goal attempts. Grade: D.
Super Stalemate: Courtney Jackson played well but Michael Javes, Will Neighbour and Marlon Louzeiro were non-factors up front. And ULL’s J.J. Thomas came off the bench to have 12 points and 9 rebounds in 19 minutes. Grade: D.
Free time: ULL opponents get to the free throw line more than the Cajuns do. But UALR went 21 times to Louisiana-Lafayette’s 22 on Thursday. And when they got there, UALR made just 13 of 21. Taggart Lockhart, Chuck Guy and D’Andre Williams all missed two apiece.
Vegas, baby
UALR’s Las Vegas winning streak is over. The Trojans were a three-point favorite and lost as a favorite for the first time this season.
Stat of the game
50: UALR missed 50 field-goal attempts on Thursday. In contrast, ULL attempted only 51.
Always negative
Louisiana-Lafayette shot 56 percent in the first half to take a sizeable halftime lead.
Keep it positive

Player of the game
Courtney Jackson had 10 points and 5 rebounds in 31 minutes.
