Courtney Jackson had a career high 20 points as UALR rolled to a 72-51 victory over Louisiana-Monroe on Thursday at Fant-Ewing Coliseum in Monroe, La.

UALR improves to 7-11 and 4-0 in the Sun Belt Conference. UALR has only been 4-0 in Sun Belt play one other time. That came in the 2001-2002 season.

Jackson was dominant most of the game from both the inside, outside and free throw line. He made 8 of 13 field goals, several coming well outside the lane, and 4 of 4 free throws.

D’Andre Williams and Chuck Guy each added 10 points for the Trojans. Taggart Lockhart had 9 while Michael Javes had 7 points and 9 rebounds.

But the surprise of the night came in the form of Will Neighbour, who returned after missing two games with a separated shoulder. Neighbour made 2 of 3 shots, all three-pointers to finish with 6 points and 3 rebounds.

UALR raced out to a 17-4 lead early in the game before letting ULM back in late in the first half. The Trojans led 38-33 at halftime.

UALR didn’t let Louisiana-Monroe get back into the game early in the second half, stretching the lead back to about 10 points most of the way.

UALR made 27 of 54 field goals for 50 percent while holding ULM to 36 percent. UALR also held a 36-30 rebound advantage.
