BTH Analysis: Bench comes through with key minutes for UALR

UALR hasn't received much bench production of late. But when the Trojans had to have it during Thursday's 65-60 victory over South Alabama, they continued a rally.

With UALR trailing 49-46 the Trojans' lineup included junior DeVonte Smith, sophomore Kemy Osse, sophomore Stetson Billings, freshman Mareik Isom and junior Gus Leeper. Osse then hit a three-pointer to tie the game and Smith scored on a three-point play as the Trojans took the lead.

Leeper again had the best plus/minus rating at +6 with UALR outscoring South Alabama 20-14 with him on the court. Smith's +5 was the easiest to compute. He never left the court, playing all 40 minutes.

UALR also won three of the four factors to winning, getting beat only in rebounding.

Leroy Isler's +17 in Sun Belt Conference games leads the Trojans. Nine of the 11 players who have seen action in Sun Belt games are at even or better so far.
