Shooting good, dunking not so much at UALR Meet The Trojans

Will Neighbour competes
in the 3-point contest.
UALR held its annual Meet the Trojans event last night at the Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock. What did we learn from this event? 1. They can shoot. 2. Canceling next year's slam dunk contest might be wise.

Kidding aside we saw some pretty solid shooting from those in the three-point shooting contest. They included seniors Will Neighbour and Leroy Isler, sophomore Kemy Osse and freshman Mareik Isom. Neighbour was the men's champion and lost in the final to women's champ Taylor Gault.

The slam dunk contest was a mess before it ever started. Sophomore Josh Hagins turned an ankle in practice on Monday and didn't compete. Those who did included super dunking sophomore James White, whose timing was really off, junior DeVonte Smith, Neighbour and some others. For the sake of all, we've burned that tape.

UALR opens the season next Monday at home against North Florida.
