BURN THE HORSE
Sometimes players benefit in the plus/minus rating by
getting into a game late while their team is pulling away by tacking on free
throws.
James White (33) sets a screen for teammate John Gillon on Monday. |
There was definitely a bump for those finishing last night’s
59-43 victory over Wisconsin-Milwaukee, but it wasn’t because the Panthers were
sending UALR to the line. UALR just went on a huge run at the end of the game,
turning a 46-42 lead into a 16-point victory.
The five who finished the game on the court all reaped the
benefits in the plus minus, each taking a +12 for that stretch. As a result,
they are the top five in last night’s Burn The Horse Plus/Minus Rating.
James White finished a team-high +19 with the Trojans
outscoring Milwaukee 48-29 with him on the court. The rest of the top five
included:
- Ben Dillard +16 (29-13)
- John Gillon +14 (40-26)
- Will Neighbour +13 (48-35)
- Leroy Isler +13 (35-22).
Neighbour and Michael Javes (+2 on
Monday) were able to climb out of the minus side for the season. Neighbour is a
team best 0.05 +/- per minute, 1.3 +/- per game and +5 for the season.
