BTH UALR Rewind: Other ouput allows Isler to lock down on defense

BURN THE HORSE
For the second consecutive game, UALR primarily played a non-shooting guard at the shooting guard position and dominated.
James White
Junior Leroy Isler filled that role nicely again in Wednesday’s 78-56 victory over Jacksonville. He only scored 4 points. But he shut down Jacksonville’s Keith McDougald, pulled down 10 rebounds, had 2 assists, 2 steals and a blocked shot.
Of course that’s made possible when UALR is getting the production it was out of the 3 position. James White started and finished with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Taggart Lockhart was next and finished with 14 points and 2 rebounds. That’s 27 points and 10 rebounds out of the 3 spot. Not bad.
And what about point guard production? John Gillon and Josh Hagins combined for 24 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists on Wednesday. Again, that type of output allows UALR to utilize Isler at the 2 position whether he scores or not.

BURN BABY BURN

White finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocked shots. One of those blocked shots was on a three-point attempt by McDougald. White leaped and sent the ball into the first row of seats.
