Billings provides bridge for UALR during key stretch vs. Milwaukee

BURN THE HORSE
The key point in last night’s victory came during the opening minutes of the second half. James White, playing the 3, picked up two fouls in four seconds as Milwaukee tied the game 25-25.
Stetson Billings
Taggart Lockhart replaced White and picked up his third foul 17 seconds later.
Next up at the 3 was freshman Stetson Billings, who had played sparingly in UALR’s first three games. Billings played the next 6:45 at the 3 position, keeping UALR in the game. When he exited, UALR led 34-32 with 12:13 left.
That bridge until they could get White and Lockhart back on the court was as important as anything last night.
Billings didn’t score last night (he missed two open layups). In fact he’s still scoreless on the season. But he’s starting to come along and is going to be counted on for depth throughout the year.
