UALR's Sutherland earns redemption at free throw line in final seconds

BURN THE HORSE
Just seven days earlier, UALR senior Tramar Sutherland stepped to the free throw line at Troy’s Sartain Hall. UALR led 56-54 and Sutherland had a 1-and-1 with a chance to put the game out of reach.

He missed the first and UALR fouled Troy on the rebound. Two Troy free throws later and UALR found itself in overtime.
UALR went on to win that game but that moment had to be on the mind of Sutherland as he stepped to the free throw line on Saturday night against Arkansas State. ASU Coach John Brady called a timeout to try and ice Sutherland with 0.8 seconds left and the score tied.
Sutherland stepped to the line and the official bounced him the ball.
Bounce, bounce, bounce and straight up.
Swish!!
Bounce, bounce, bounce and straight up.
Swish!!
And UALR clinched the outright Sun Belt West Division championship.
Not a bad way to wrap up senior night for Sutherland.
