Jarvis' Owls apparently get defensive message

BURN THE HORSE
Earlier this week, Florida Atlantic Coach Mike Jarvis called out his players, calling their defensive play awful.

Well, that message must have went through loud and clear.

In the first half last night, the Owls held Louisiana-Monroe to 3 of 21 shooting (14 percent), 1 of 6 three-point shooting and even 0 of 2 free-throw shooting. FAU led ULM 23-7 at halftime.

Florida Atlantic held an opponent to a record low with the 58-30 victory over the Warhawks. Here's last night's story:

Florida Atlantic was in the air today, traveling from Boca Raton, Fla., to Little Rock. The Owls take on the UALR Trojans at 7 p.m. on Saturday at the Jack Stephens Center.
