UALR men pick up fifth commitment of Fall: New Braunfels Canyon big man Andrew Poulter

BURN THE HORSE
We’re still waiting for this to make the recruiting rounds, but it appears UALR has locked up its fifth commitment of the fall signing period.

New Braunfels (Texas) Canyon forward Andrew Poulter has committed to sign with UALR next week at the start of the early signing period. Poulter, a 6-10, 260-pound forward, is currently ranked the 53rd best prospect in the State of Texas. He was receiving interest from schools like Western Kentucky, Indiana State and UC-Riverside, among others.

While not highly regarded by most of the recruiting services, Poulter has a lot of potential. He appears to have a nice touch from the free throw line in and has good skills with the left hook down low. When you see him, you instantly think of UALR assistant Coach Joe Kleine. They’ve got a very similar build.

Recruiting guru Van Coleman called him a “mobile big man” that “can flat run the floor all day. He has good hands, finished in paint and got on the glass.” Coleman’s service rated him No. 53 out of 200 in Texas.

Poulter joins four guards already slated to sign with UALR next Wednesday: Austin (Texas) Bowie’s Mareik Isom, Houston Strake Jesuit’s John Gillon, Bossier City (La.) Airline’s Josh Hagins, and Strong’s Stetson Billings.

Watch Poulter in the video below. It's kind of like the Will Neighbour video we've seen in the past. He's not going against good competition. But it does show his shooting touch.
