Gault's scoring shows potential for UALR women's basketball

BURN THE HORSE
The UALR women were beaten 83-53 by No. 6 Texas A&M last night at the Jack Stephens Center. That was pretty much expected considering the experience of the defending national champions and the inexperience of this year's Trojan squad.

One bright spot has emerged early this season for UALR. Freshman Taylor Gault had 23 points last night. This came after 20 points in the second game of the season. Matched with her 0 points in the season opener, Gault is now averaging 14.3 points per game. She's shooting 54.3 percent from three-point range.

One area Gault has to improve on is turnovers. She's got a team high 15 in three games. But she's shown great potential for a true freshman early in her career.
