UALR's Reed, Bozeman, Butler and Foley win Sun Belt Awards

   UALR's Chastity Reed and Solomon Bozeman were named Sun Belt Conference players of the year on Thursday morning.
   Reed becomes the first UALR women's player to earn the award. Bozeman becomes the third men's player to win the award, joining Derek Fisher and Muntrelle Dobbins.
   UALR women's Coach Joe Foley was named Sun Belt Coach of the Year, while Shanika Butler was named the women's Defensive Player of the Year.
   Reed was the preseason player of the year and led the conference in scorig. She was named first team All-Sun Belt, while Butler was named to the second team. Surprisingly, point guard Asriel Rolfe didn't make any of the three teams. The others on the first team were Middle Tennessee's Ebony Rowe and Anne Marie Lanning, Denver's Kaetlyn Murdoch and Western Kentucky's Arnika Brown.
   Bozeman led the Sun Belt in scoring in conference games this season. He was joined on the first team by Florida Atlantic's aymond Taylor, North Texas' Tristan Thompson and Western Kentucky's Sergio Kerusch and Steffphon Pettigrew.
   The other women's award went to Rowe as Freshman of the Year.
   The other men's awards went to Florida Atlantic's Mike Jarvis as Coach of the Year, Florida Atlantic's Brett Royster as Defensive Player of the Year and South Alabama's Augustine Rubit as Freshman of the Year.
