UALR fans can vote for Chastity Reed as nation's Premier Player

UALR SPORTS INFORMATION 
   Senior forward Chastity Reed has been selected by fans as a finalist for the 2011 Premier Player of College Basketball Award for women’s basketball.  Reed is one of five finalists with fans able to vote from now until April 4th at www.premierplayers.com.
   The New Orleans, La.-native joins Elena Delle Donne of Delaware, Jasmine Thomas of Duke, Kachine Alexander of Iowa, and Maya Moore of Connecticut as the finalists.
   Reed, the 2011 Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year and Sun Belt Tournament Most Outstanding Player, leads the Trojans in points averaging 19.4 per game and in rebounds averaging 6.3 per game.
Reed has helped lead UALR to four-straight Sun Belt West Division titles, the team’s first-ever Sun Belt Conference Tournament Championship, and four-straight post-season appearances including the second-straight NCAA berth.
   Fans can vote now for the overall winner of The Premier Player Trophy.  The winners of both the men’s and women’s basketball award will join Ryan Mallett, quarterback of the University of Arkansas, as being the first recipients of the award in their particular sport.
   Polls close on April 4th with the trophies being presented on April 16th in Charlotte, N.C. prior to the tip-off of the Jordan Brand Classic Basketball Tournament at the Time Warner Arena.
