Derrick Bails grabs one of his 13 rebounds on Saturday vs. Troy. |
It’s not that Bails hasn’t had the potential but he hasn’t shown it much. I mean his season high was five rebounds going into Saturday’s game.
Bails career high is nine rebounds and he did it twice last season -- in the same week. He had nine rebounds Feb. 18 at Denver and nine rebounds Feb. 20 at North Texas. The hope at that time was that a light had finally gone on for him.
Nobody was expecting him to turn into the rebounding machine that was Rashad Jones-Jennings, but to get 7 to 10 a night doesn't seem to much to ask for a player of his size. It’s taken quite a while for that light to shine this season.
Still, it’s worth mentioning again. Derrick Bails. 5 points. 13 rebounds. Solid effort.
