Streaks impressive, but a long way from records for UALR women

BURN THE HORSE
The UALR women will carry a couple of long winning streaks into Saturday's home game against Arkansas State at 4:30 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center.
UALR has won 10-consecutive games and 19-consecutive home games going into the contest. The home court winning streak ranks seventh nationally (UConn has 72) and the winning streak ranks sixth nationally (Duke has 19).
Both marks are also a long way from the school record. UALR's home court winning streak record is 29 games, while it's winning streak record is 21 games. Both were snapped by Middle Tennessee.
UALR does have two other streaks in play this week and both date back to the 2009 loss to Middle Tennessee in conference play.
The Trojans have won 24 consecutive Sun Belt Conference regular season games and 16 consecutive games played in the month of January.
UALR Coach Joe Foley is also looking for his 600th career victory on Saturday.
