Sidney Moncrief says he didn't win at UALR because of a lack of talent

So, apparently Sidney Moncrief didn't win at UALR because he didn't have any talent. So says the former Arkansas-Fayetteville legend.
This is from the Wall Street Journal:
Mr. Moncrief says that with experience, he would have been able to win four or five more games. Among his rookie mistakes: working his players so hard in practice that “they didn’t have any energy to play in games,” and underestimating the importance of talent.
“That was probably the most shocking thing--even if you have experience, if you don’t have talented players you’re not winning,” says Mr. Moncrief. “We didn’t have a very good team.”
OK. But Moncrief did have Alan Barksdale, Stan Blackmon, Alex Finger, Mark Green, Michael Neal and Lavern Smith. Those players also stayed with UALR the next season to play for Porter Moser. They went from four victories to 18 the next season.
Obviously, there was a little talent there. It would seem Moncrief just couldn't figure out what to do with it. Moncrief's victories came against Alcorn State, Grambling State, UAPB and Denver. At least they could have won the SWAC that season.
It’s a bit awkward because the Wall Street Journal’s style is to use Mr. before all names, and because this writer is obviously not a basketball writer. But you can read the entire story here:
