Tulsa called timeout with nine seconds left and UALR leading 69-67. During the timeout, Tulsa Coach Doug Wojcik said he thought UALR would come back out in the 2-2-1 press. Tulsa wanted to get the ball inside to Steven Idlett for the game-tying shot.
Instead, UALR came out in man-to-man defense. UALR's D'Andre Williams didn't allow any penetration from the point guard and Courtney Jackson denied Idlett the ball. Eventually, Idlett floated well outside the lane. Tulsa had to jack up a desperation three-pointer at the buzzer that fell well short.
