Women: Bowling Green 56, UALR 47

Foul trouble plagued UALR throughout as the Trojans dropped a Mid-Major showcase came in a 56-47 loss to Bowling Green in the first round of the Seattle U. Thanksgiving Classic.
UALR (2-2) entered the game ranked third in the College Insider Women's Mid-Major Top 25, while Bowling Green was ranked eighth.
Senior Chastity Reed led UALR with 18 points and 11 rebounds, but she made only 7 of 23 field-goal attempts.
Senior Asriel Rolfe, who generally plays the entire game, was held to 16 minutes due to foul trouble.
Bowling Green won despite shooting only 28 percent from the field. The Lady Falcons made up for that by making 20 of 28 free throws. UALR made only 5 of 10 free throws.
UALR jumped out to a 9-0 lead and the Trojans were still on top 20-15 with 5:52 left in the half as Rolfe was forced to the bench with her third foul. She played only 1:27 of the second half before getting her fourth foul. She didn't return to the game until the 4:51 mark of the second half with Bowling Green leading 47-44.
A three-pointer by Tracy Pontius with one minute remaining pushed Bowling Green's lead to eight points as the Lady Falcons held on for the victory.
UALR will play Montana State (2-3) in tonight's third place game.
