UCA Classic

BURN THE HORSE
We thought the format proposed by UALR was a great model, but they didn't get anywhere with it.
UCA's model appears to look something like this:
Year 1
  • ASU would play in the UCA Classic on Friday against a Division I opponent and Saturday against UCA.
  • UCA would play UALR at the Jack Stephens Center.
Year 2
  • UALR would play in the UCA Classic on Friday against a Division I opponent and Saturday against UCA.
  • UCA would play ASU at The Convocation Center.

There's some definite benefit to doing this for both UALR and ASU. Without having to pay to bring another opponent in, you get a home game one year and a neutral and road game the next year, all played in state.
We haven't heard from UALR or ASU yet on this, but if the other Division I opponent is decent (It needs to be to counter-balance UCA's current RPI situation in the eyes of the Sun Belt's scheduling criteria), it might be workable.
