UALR women at No. 3

BURN THE HORSE
How do you know when you've earned respect? When you lose a game by 46 points and only drop from No. 2 to No. 3.
That's what happened this week to the UALR women in the Mid-Major Top 25. UALR was beaten by Texas A&M by 46 points, but rebounded nicely with a victory against Louisiana Tech. And the Trojans moved down to No. 3 in the poll behind Wisconsin-Green Bay and Old Dominion.
UALR gets a major test on Friday when it plays Bowling Green in Seattle, Wash. Bowling Green is ranked No. 9 this week.
Other UALR opponents continue to be ranked. Middle Tennessee got drilled by Arkansas and fell from sixth to eighth. South Dakota State dropped from 11th to 13th. Saint Mary's moved up from 25th to 20th. And opponents Western Kentucky, Arkansas State and South Alabama are receiving votes.

And the UALR men aren't far off making an appearance in the men's poll. It will likely take two tough victories this week to make it happen.
