Trojans win home opener 108-58

UALR set a school record with eight players in double figures as the Trojans routed St. Gregory's University 108-58 on Wednesday at The Jack Stephens Center in Little Rock.
UALR (2-1) jumped out to a 16-1 lead at the first media timeout and never looked back. The Trojans led 60-26 at halftime against the overmatched Cavaliers (3-2), which play in NAIA.
Senior Matt Mouzy led UALR with 16 points. Others in double figures were junior Eric Kibi (14), junior Marlon Louzeiro (13), senior Solomon Bozeman (11) junior Courtney Jackson (11), freshman Reggie Sonnier (11), senior Montrell Thornton (11) and freshman Chucky Guy (10).
UALR shot 59 percent while holding St. Gregory's to 27 percent from the field. And the Trojans held a 52-32 advantage in rebounds.
UALR played without freshman forward Gus Leeper, who was injured (concussion) in practice on Tuesday. His status for Sunday's game against Illinois State is not known.
Senior forward Derrick Bails, who was indefinitely suspended and missed games against SMU and St. Bonaventure, returned to action after the final media timeout of the second half. He finished with 0 points on 0-1 shooting.
